It was the weekend and we decided that we’d make a trip of it. So a group of my friends and me all piled in a sedan getting ready to make this journey out to Austin. Of course, the city is beautiful the night life was entertaining as well, we’re talking 6th street and Austin, no brainer!
As we headed out that evening for dinner we found a restaurant where we began eating like Kings and Queens and everything was so delicious after we finished we signaled to our server who looked just like Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, no lie. He looked at us and said no need to worry your tab has already been paid by an older couple who left sometime ago. We sat just in pure shock, personally, this was the first time anything like that has ever happened to me.
When we finally were able to snap out of it, we frantically were looking around left and right trying to find these people so we could thank them but they were long gone. The funny thing about that story is the couple who paid our bill, they never waited around for a thank you. Honestly, I think they didn't want the praise at all. They just were glad to be a blessing to someone and that was just enough for them.
Thinking back on that weekend that couple sparked something in us where it was almost like a game we were just searching for the next person or anybody around that we could pay it forward to. We wanted to keep that momentum going so today I want you to think the next time you’re out and about. Maybe the next time before you selfishly splurge all of your income tax on yourself, to think maybe you could you share some of that wealth. Perhaps purchase a child a snowcone instead of watching him/her scrounging around to find that bit of change. Or stopping taking a moment to just talk to someone who may be in a jam. Paying it forward isn't always about money, objects or things it's honestly about where your heart is. I just wanted to share with you a few points to think on.
STOP: We move so fast the only time we can observe the world around us we must stop!
LOOK: Use the vision you’ve been given to see who is in need.
LISTEN: You know people around you that are in need, are you willing to meet that need?
Be Blessed Family!
